There are known errors in this layer where parcels included may not physically include a religious facility. Some parcels identified in this layer have been assigned their land use designation based on the owner of the property rather than their current use. In such cases, these lots may actually be vacant and/or used for parking or other purposes related to the owner. To better identify spatially accurate religious facility locations, this layer should be used in conjunction with FGDL Layer Religious Centers (FGDL layer name = GC_RELIGION). The locations in GC_ RELIGION can be used to cross-reference the religion parcels included in this layer. This dataset is to be used for informational purposes only. For legal matters, the users should contact the respective county property appraiser offices for current records.

DATA LINEAGE SUMMARY:

GeoPlan used the available 67-county 2010 parcel tax data records gathered from the State Department of Revenue (DOR) to create the religious facility parcel shapefile. Parcels were selected based on their use-code value. The use-code of 71 Churches were selected out. The data set contains the final selections from the original dataset with selected fields removed and Socio-Cultural Effect fields and attribute definitions added. - Reprojected to FGDL Albers HPGN from various State Planes- NAD83 (East, North, and West) - Added a DESCRIPT field based on NAME Process Date: 20110420 Data imported to ArcSDE and exported as a shapefile. Process Date: 20110510
